How To Create Killer Pinterest Graphic

How To Create Killer Pinterest Graphics That Go Viral - Having free stock photos is just the beginning. Now it's your turn to make that image into a beautiful Pinterest graphic that readers would want to click. So, what tool do you use to make that viral pin? Is it Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Picmonkey, or Canva? My personal preference is Canva. Even for experienced graphic designers, Canva makes it super easy for you to create a graphic really quickly, and access it anywhere and anytime. I'm all about time saving as a busy mompreneur and all about tools that make my life easy! So are you ready to create a Pinterest graphic that readers will want to click, every time they see it? But first, let me share with you what the top 4 factors are in creating a click-worthy pin.

How To Create Killer Pinterest Graphics That go viral

    1. Viral Pinterest Graphics - Photo

Many bloggers use Canva to create Pinterest graphics and opt to use free stock photos that are available. The downside to this is that so many other bloggers are doing the same thing! You cannot stand out by doing the same thing that other bloggers are doing! If you search 'visually similar pins' like below, you can quickly see that so many other bloggers are using the same image. When Pinterest users see similarly looking photos, they are likely to scroll through as they are not eye catching to them anymore. So to stand out, you will want to start creating graphics with photos that are not readily available to the mass public.

    2. Viral Pinterest Graphics - eye catching title

You want the graphics to stand out but at the same time, it's the title that will make your reader click on the pin. For example, think about a blog post you created about growing your audience. You can have the pin title that says 'How To Grow Your Audience' OR 'How To Grow Your Audience To 10K in 3 Months - How I did it and you can too' Which one would you most likely click on? In order to entice your audience to click on the pin, you want to make it more specific. I've also had a pin I had created in my other blog that said '10 Positive Affirmations To Make More Money' which didn't perform very well. After I switched to 'How To Have The Mindset That Makes You More Money' and 'Why You Are Not Making The Money You Want - What Can Really Help' I started to really generate clicks through my website. Do you see the difference here? You will want to create titles that really make the readers curious about what you want to say in your post. And this brings to my next point.

    3. Viral Pinterest Graphics - A/B/C Testing

You probably have heard that you may want to create more than just one graphic for your post. And just as I have explained above, you will want to create 3-4 pins for your post and experiment with the wording, the graphics, and the layout. One of the ways you can easily create multiple graphics for a post is by having a template that you can use. And Canva makes it easy to store and copy the template and change the graphics. You can see the Canva Template I use again and again that has generated few viral pins for my posts and also draws most clicks. I simply swap out the background photos with one of the photos that I take, change the wordings and pin these for all of my posts! It is a huge time saver whenever I need to create Pinterest graphics! But even with these proven Canva Templates, I always review the results to see which copy worked better and which format worked better to continuously learn and tweak my future pins. So testing is so key and reviewing the results of your tests to make improvements is what you will want to do!

    4. Viral Pinterest Graphics - Branding

Aside from having your website address on the pin, what can make it really stand out? It's the colors! If you don't already have a brand color and fonts picked out, this is the time for you to really think about what those are so that your pins look cohesive. Some of the resources that can help you pick out the colors are here:
    • BrandColors.Net - This site provides hex codes of all the colors used in brands. You can browse the brand colors of top companies (I'm talking about big companies like Apple, Amazon too!) and see which one stand out to you for your brand.
    • HTML Color Codes - If you know what color you want to use from an image but don't know how it translates to a hex code, you can upload the image to this site and get the hex code to use for your brand!
It takes practice but with Canva template and stock photos that are not readily available to everyone, your pin will stand out! RELEVANT POSTS:

One last tip I would want to recommend is, become aware of the Pinterest graphics that grab YOUR attention when you are on Pinterest. Take note of those and see why it caught your eye. Is it the title? Is it the graphics? Or combination of both? Apply the learnings to your own pins and your pins will perform so much better!
